My first project with furniture!

I love this room, silver, gray, purple and it has the silver/mirrored looking furniture.
I have become a huge fan of Tracey's Fancy on Etsy.com. Her work is amazing! So talented I hope to one day be half as good as her and be able to save up enough to buy a custom piece from her collection. Check out her stuff if you are looking for hand painted custom french dressers or furniture=)
Okay here it is a similar serving cart like my first project I started this blog topic about lol!
I love this, me and the animal prints! Found this one surfing the web and didn't write down the link to where the photo came from but someone very talented for sure!
Gorgeous dresser

This is a rocking chair I am going to look at on Thursday, possibly to use in my bedroom. I have always wanted a chair that is this style and I love this one=).

Okay this is the chandelier I mentioned below for my dinning room, I saw it on Pottery Barn website then found one on Craigslist for a couple hundred less. I think it is perfect. It is bronze and it has crystals but not the fancy tear drop style more unique with the round shaped ones I think. I really think this will look nice but still have that elegant vintage quality to it.
Saw this on a blog site and look it's the same chandelier I want, love it and I love the sunburst mirror, looking for one similar with silver and gold finish for my bedroom above the bed.

This is a set I found on craigslist that I am hoping won't be sold before hubby's day off cause I want to go look and if in good condition possibly buy for my first dressers to refinish. I think they are gorgeous and can already see it silver with black details.
Saw one of these for my entry way earlier in the month for $300 and then last night found this one for only $50 looks the same pretty much. Love it. Hoping it is still available on Thursday
This is the tall chest that goes with the dresser I want to buy, this would go on hubby's side for the security camera box and mount the tv above it.
Okay this one is almost identical to the one I will be posting before photos of later this week and then be refinishing for my family room. Mine has the top that opens to a circle shaped top for more room. I love it=). My dad would be so happy I saved it from his storage and plan to fix him up and put it in the house.

Okay so I mentioned last week that I have become obsessed with vintage furniture or also known as the french provincial style. You also see a lot of this furniture classified as shabby chic cause they will paint it white and distress it for that kind of look. I love it all whether it is wood, cherry, shabby chic, the original paint but my favorite is the style I have found on other blogs and some amazing ladies on Etsy do some work that I die for. I have decided that since I love interior design, painting and creating things plus DIY projects this is going to be my new hobby. I hope to maybe eventually turn it into a business venture but for now since I am trying to finish the redecorating of my master suite and the entry way of my home, also the family room, I want to snatch up some of this gorgeous furniture and see what I can come up with. I posted a few inspirations and I have done a lot of googling for not only photos that inspire the style and look I want, but also the techniques and DIY advice. I have found some amazing how to videos and site on spray painting these pieces and also use of glaze or dry brushing. I have so many that it is hard to decide what I want to do first.

I have painted furniture and pieces before, when we redid our master bathroom I had these horrible late 70's early 80's cabinets in our bathroom. The previous owner had done a quick and cheap remodel to sell the house and mostly replaced the tile, shower doors and counter top but kept the original cabinets, sinks, toilet and then the stuff he did replace must have been what ever was on clearance or cheapest he could find at stores or garage sales. We spent a lot of money ripping out walls, gutting the kitchen and replacing all the flooring, base boards, lights and fans in the house. We also had the ceiling scrapped and put knockdown cause I hate the 80's style popcorn ceilings. The one thing we never got around to doing was the bathrooms, like I explained the previous owner did redo them but not to the liking or style I would have wanted but decent enough to where we could move in and live with them for awhile. So about a year after we purchased the home I had enough off the dark 80's cabinets so I removed all the doors lightly sanded them, then painted them white. I replaced the knobs with some silver ones to match the towel holder and other accessories in the bathroom, then removed the mirrors, which I hate and painted those white. I want to buy new mirrors but haven't found any that I love. The painting experience over all went good, it really made a huge difference and I was amazed how easy it was to refinish them and that I didn't really have to do a lot to them, they came out nice. I want to eventually retile the bathroom, add a seat or bench in the shower and then get a new double sink vanity and counter but for now it is decent. I started thinking that one of these vintage dressers would look gorgeous painted and used as a vanity. I was honestly considering for the kid's bathroom, when we bought the house they had done basically the same thing in that bathroom, the vanity is a cheap white formica one from home depot with the sink and counter that is plain cream. I replaced the ugly mirror right away with one I had from my previous house in Paige's room that is a silver tone, I think I got it on clearance at Kirkland's for like $25 a year before we moved in. That bathroom I have done in hot pink and black, the look I was going for was a fashion, girly diva room. I have hot pink and black, zebra print, lots of silver and crystal accent pieces, a black vintage style sewing molds that looks like a bust with hot pink crystals on it I got for $20 on clearance at Marshall's and a lot of cute little photos of purses, makeup and little sayings about shopping and being a diva. I will post photos soon, but I think the bathroom would look cute with one of these dressers painted white with a nice stone or marble top and sink, then have a couple of the drawers with a zebra print and some with pink or black polka dots. Then I would do silver tone hardware to match the silver in the bathroom already. I have a candle chandelier in there now but thinking maybe of getting a large one with light bulbs to hang in the center, I currently have the can, or recessed lights in there but think the chandelier would tie it all together so nice.

Anyways, so rambling off subject lol. Going to post a few more photos and so excited that this week I am going to buy some dressers and possibly a full french bedroom set to use in Paige's room. Yes I am even thinking of adding new furniture to her room, I just repainted and changed the accents and bedding in her room, she picked this rainbow, bright colors with animal print so it's wild but I think the furniture is so gorgeous and found a couple sets on craigslist I love. I bought her furniture she has at rooms 2 go when we bought the house for 800 and just settled with it cause I wanted something new and queen size to use if we had guests. It is not my style at all and she isn't to into it either but for the price it was perfect. Now I am ready to start this new hobby and what better way then to start with pieces for my own house and then if I don't like them or love them I buy something else and sell that set. lol.

So my first piece, sorry I get so off topic is going to be a vintage, antique serving cart with wheels and the top has folding leaf style so that it can be expanded into a larger round cart. This was a piece my father bought and had in the storage unit. I don't know what about it made me want to bring it home with me a few months ago when we visited the unit but it has been on my back patio and has gotten a beating from the rain. It is solid wood, I am thinking once it is refinished to use it in my family room next to the amazing wing back vintage chair I bought off craigslist for 35 around thanksgiving. Then I also have two wall shelves that are wood, a formica cheap walmart find bookshelf that use to be in Paige's room and a small side table or old phone table that was my Grandma's that I want to sand and paint white or shabby chic for the guest room/studio office space. So I am going to post some pics of the items I plan to paint, starting with one of a similar serving cart till I can download my own photos then will start the process later this week once I fill my cake and cupcakes orders. I am going to post a lot of photos of my home before and afters cause we have repainted and done some little things to change up here and there. I would love to find the original photos of this house when we bought it then when we moved in to show the work we did cause this house was a hot mess when we purchased it almost 4 years ago, wow can't believe it has been that long. Now to start my fun and new hobby.

Also I am a huge fan of pinterest.com and have pinned some amazing DIY stuff on their I plan to start like using recycled pizza boxes for paintings, a stenciling project and I am looking for a new chandelier for our dinning room, I have to have a real chandelier meaning one with crystals on it. Now this isn't really my taste so finding one that is my taste and goes with my love for wrought iron and bronze metal decor I think I may have found one that is my style but still has that classy crystal vintage look that I mean when I say real chandelier lol. So now off to upload a few photos. Enjoy and I can't wait to start sharing my new hobby=).
